Our client is a leading player in the specialty chemicals and plastics industries with Key Applications in Packaging, Automotive, Construction, Consumer Goods and also in Agriculture, textiles, and cable manufacturing. With international presence and ambitious growth plans, the company is seeking a Global Sales Director to drive its next phase of expansion.
Role
This newly created position will establish and lead the global sales function with a managerial and visionary approach (go-to-market, business planning, product development, key account management, internationalization, team leadership).
Develop and implement the global business development strategy across the group, with an initial focus on one key subsidiary to accelerate its sales growth.
Collaborate closely with production, R&D laboratories, and purchasing to ensure commercial alignment with broader business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute global sales strategies and tactics to exceed revenue targets;
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate sales managers and teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives;
- Sales Operations: Oversee all sales activities, manage pipelines, and optimize processes to maximize performance;
- Market Analysis: Monitor trends, identify opportunities, and adapt strategies to maintain competitiveness;
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders;
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, product development, and executive leadership;
- Reporting & Forecasting: Deliver accurate forecasts and performance analysis to senior management;
- High-Value Deals: Personally support and engage in strategic negotiations and major customer agreements.
Key qualifications
- Experience: 10–15+ years in commercial leadership roles within the plastics or chemical sector sector;
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Economics, or Business Administration;
- Proven track record in driving revenue growth and achieving targets;
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills;
- Strategic mindset with excellent analytical and planning abilities;
- Strong communication and presentation skills at international level;
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally;
- Fluent English required; Spanish or another EU language is a plus;
- Travel: Availability for up to 60% travel across Italy and abroad.
